What Is the SNGPL Gas Bill Calculator?

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) distributes natural gas to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, serving Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and over 300 towns across these provinces. This calculator estimates your monthly SNGPL gas bill using OGRA-approved tariff slabs for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

SNGPL uses a progressive tariff slab structure where consumption above each MMBTU threshold is charged at a progressively higher rate. Domestic consumers in the lower slabs receive a subsidized rate, while higher-consumption households pay near full market cost.

SNGPL vs SSGC: Which One Are You On?

Pakistan has two national gas distribution companies: SNGPL (North) and SSGC (South). Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, and all of KPK are SNGPL customers. Karachi, Hyderabad, and Balochistan are SSGC customers. Using the wrong company’s calculator may give you incorrect results since both have separate OGRA-approved tariff structures. Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Using SSGC rates for SNGPL: Both companies have distinct tariff schedules. Even though they operate similar slab structures, the per-MMBTU rates differ. Always use the calculator for the correct company.
• Winter overconsumption surprise: Many Punjabi households consume 4–6 MMBTU in January due to room heaters. At the highest slab rate, this can result in a bill 3–5 times higher than summer months. Budget proactively.
• Confusing meter units: Some older meters read in cubic feet, newer ones in cubic metres. The conversion is different for each. Your bill clearly states the heat content conversion factor — use that rather than a generic estimate.
